Each specific sport has a very tailored way of improving performance but quite often the basics are overlooked. For example I have many clients who are keen runners and run in 10k events, half and full marathons but don’t understand why they are not improving their times. The answer lies with their training methods and nutrition. They will train using the same methods week in week out and only take advice from maybe piers or books that are so called “tried and tested”. It’s not my job to knock these methods but my job is to work hand in hand with the client to improve their Personal Best.
Improving flexibility and fitness can have a huge effect on results and again that’s were I come in. Many athletes can improve by simply stretching in the correct way, but most overlook this simple tool.
